Jeremy advises impactful organizations on a wide range of matters including tax, contracts, employment,
intellectual property, and governance. He serves as outside general counsel to a number of organizations
offering pragmatic guidance to keep them focused on improving the world around them. He has assisted
large organizations to structure their subsidiary and affiliate entities to improve efficiency while
preserving the benefits of separate legal identities. He provides strategic advice on governance and legal
structures to support organizational growth.
Jeremy counsels nonprofits on the use of innovative fundraising platforms as well virtual currency and its
related technologies in a variety of settings. He assists internationally-focused organizations in
compliance with the complex regulations implicated by mobilizing funding and in-kind donations to help
vulnerable people in conflict-torn parts of the world.
Jeremy regularly provides counsel to nonprofits as they consider the creation of companion entities to
increase their lobbying and engagement in political activity, maximizing their ability to achieve their
charitable mission.
Jeremy has advised clients on compliance issues relating to their online presence, including policies
related to data management and privacy, terms of use, and releases. He has counseled nonprofits
developing mobile-based applications as they deal with multiple regulatory regimes across states and
countries.

- Assisted a national cancer-related public charity in the launch of an innovative web-based tool
and advised regarding ongoing compliance with IRS requirements for maintaining tax-exempt
status. - Helped a foreign university establish a New York-chartered higher education institution, guiding
its new officers through establishing a Board of Trustees, creating committees, and developing
compliance strategies in response to state and federal requirements. - Represented a new public charity and ensured compliance with applicable federal and state
regulations in establishing international operations, reviewing grant applications, and preparing
grant agreements with recipient charities. - Advised a leading financial technology startup regarding state and federal regulatory compliance
and assisted with the drafting and submission of the application for a New York virtual currency
