Regulatory Compliance Specialists

Perlman & Perlman assists its non-profit clients in complying with all levels of state non-profit laws. We track legal developments in the fundraising community, as well as proposed regulations and amendments to state laws.

We handle all aspects of compliance with state fundraising laws, including registering charitable organizations, professional solicitors, commercial co-venturers and fundraising counsel. We also assist our clients with obtaining state licenses to issue charitable gift annuities. We currently register over 150 charities nationwide.

CYNTHIA MERCADO heads the Compliance Department at Perlman & Perlman. She holds a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics & Law from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She is also a certified paralegal. She has been a Compliance Specialist at Perlman & Perlman since 1996.

MARSHA FORRESTER holds a B.A. in Political Science from Baruch College – The City University of New York. Prior to joining the firm as a Compliance Specialist, she has worked at The City University of New York and The Department of Education.

ROXANNE SCHER has a bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies from the University of Maryland. Prior to joining the firm as a Compliance Specialist, Roxanne worked at a women’s non-profit organization.

HOLLY CURTIS graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. degree in Justice Studies from Arizona State University. Prior to joining the firm in October 2006, Holly served as an intern for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She is also a certified paralegal.

SUSAN HANSEN-CEO, CLA, graduated, with honors, in Paralegal Studies from Phoenix College. She is a certified Legal Assistant through NALA. Prior to joining the firm in March 2007, she worked in compliance/regulatory areas of the student loan industry.

KYRA M. WELCH has a B.A degree in Communication Studies from Arizona State University. Prior to joining the firm in April 2007, she worked as a team member of the Order Management & Activation department at AT&T.

SHARON GLOVER holds a Bachelor’s Degree from California State University Dominguez Hills and Certified Legal Assistant/Paralegal Diploma from Heald Business College in California. Prior to joining the firm as a Compliance Specialist Sharon worked as a Litigation Paralegal and Legal Secretary.

KATHERINE HOGUE has a B.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in History from Arizona State University. Prior to joining the firm in December 2007, she was a full time student participating in the Barrett Honors College and Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity.
