State Registration of Non-Profit Organizations

Since 1959, the firm of Perlman & Perlman, Esqs. has provided registration and compliance services with State and local authorities for non-profit organizations, fund-raising consultants, professional solicitors and commercial co-venturers. These services include preparation of registration statements; the filing of all required documentation; and all requisite follow-up with the registration authorities. Perlman & Perlman currently registers over 150 charities nationwide.

In addition, we review contracts and financial statements to ensure they meet all necessary state and local requirements. We are available at your convenience to discuss these and other fund-raising issues that might from time to time be a concern. The firm also regularly sends newsletters and client alerts on issues we believe are important to both our clients and the philanthropic community in general.

The client is expected only to provide this office with rudimentary information, basic documentation and, when appropriate, an annual audited financial statement and IRS 990. The timely completion of annual financial reporting is essential to the timely filing of registration materials. Clients should keep in mind that failure to provide this information may result in missed filing deadlines which can lead to fines or the possible suspension of solicitation activities within a state or locality.
