Practice Areas
Tracy L. Boak's practice includes all aspects of nonprofit law. Her particular expertise in the regulation of charitable solicitation is rooted in 12 years of service in the public sector. She is an experienced litigator, having served as prosecuting attorney for several bureaus of the Pennsylvania Department of State as well as in private civil practice.

Experience
Ms. Boak served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, most recently as Director of the Pennsylvania Department of State's Bureau of Charitable Organizations, the agency responsible for the administration and enforcement of the State's charitable solicitation law. She served as a prosecuting attorney for the Department's Bureau of Charitable Organizations, the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs and as counsel to the Bureau of Human Resources.

Ms. Boak was an Adjunct Professor at Widener University School of Law, where she taught the course on Nonprofit Organizations.

Professional & Nonprofit Affiliations
Ms. Boak is a former President of the National Association of State Charities Officials (NASCO), a national organization serving as an exchange between state officials and the charitable organizations they oversee. She has served on the Charitable Organizations (Chair) and Government Lawyers (Executive Committee) Committees of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She was on the Board of Directors of the Dauphin County Bar Association where she was an active member of the Association's Public Service Committee.

Speaking Engagements
Ms. Boak is a sought after speaker on charitable solicitation and the relationship between the nonprofit sector and the government. She has been engaged by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, The Association of Fundraising Professionals, The American Law Institute, National Association of State Charity Officials and Pennsylvania Bar Association among others. In 2008, she delivered the Keynote Speech at the Inaugural Pennsylvania Nonprofit Congress and in 2009, she was the featured speaker at the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal's Nonprofit Innovation Awards.
